The Kiln Room

Frequently Asked

The questions we get asked most often, answered plainly. If yours is not here, ring 01904 555 000 or email hello@thekilnroom.example.

Do I need any experience?

No. The beginners’ class is built for people who have never touched clay, and that is who most of the room usually is.

Do I have to book?

Classes, workshops and open studio sessions need booking ahead. The cafe does not — walk in any day we are open.

When are you open?

Tuesday to Sunday, 9am to 6pm. Closed Mondays.

Can children come?

Yes — kids’ workshops run on Saturdays. [Age range and whether a grown-up stays — tell us and we will add it here.]

Can I just come for the cake?

Yes. The cafe is open to everyone, whether you are throwing that day or not. Everything on the counter is homemade.

What do I wear?

Something you would not mind getting clay on. Aprons are provided.

When do I get my pot back?

Your piece is fired and glazed here in the studio, then waits on the shelf with your name on it. Ready in [turnaround time].

Do you do parties or group bookings?

[Tell us whether you take private groups, hen parties, birthdays and team days, and what the minimum numbers are — we will write this answer for you.]

Is there parking, and is the studio step-free?

[Parking, step-free access and the nearest bus stop — tell us the details and we will put them here.]

Do you sell gift vouchers?

[Tell us whether vouchers are available and how they are bought.]
